In this day and age. we are constantly exposed to social networking at all angles. Something as simple as buying lunch from a new restaurant would expose you to their twitter and facebook. We are constantly bombarded with ads which conclude with a form of social networking. There are various aspects of social networking that can be positive and negative. Whether social networking is good for society is something that remains uncertain in our immediate future. One aspect of social networking in recent times would be the corporate use of it. Many corporation are beginning to understand the importance of it and actively use it to promote their product and services. Some pros of social networking would the ability to communicate with others around the world, one would be able to make a phone call from the states to England or video chat with someone in Thailand. Another aspect of social networking would be the ability to for business owners to put "themselves out there". Exposures is very important for small businesses. According to Elise Moreau from "lifewire.com" , "there are actually lots of entrepreneurs and businesses out there that thrive almost entirely on social networks and wouldn't even be able to operate without it". This exemplify the importance of social networking in our society. Although, there are many positive aspects of social networking: there are some inherent risk to social networking. As explained by Joan GoodChild who is a senior editor of CSO Online. She states that " Your information is being shared with third parties". To better explain why this happens, third party agency use this information either to create ads that specifically target you or worse, the information collected can be used for identity thief. Either way, the benefits of social networking may outweigh the cons of it as long as we practice precaution.
